Please review all information below and contact us prior to ordering if your smoker build date is older than February 2015, as the shelf may require customization. The sliding shelf installs without any drilling, bolting or modifications as demonstrated in the video linked below.
- The Drop In section measures 16"x20" with the removable section allowing easy access to the 2 piece diffuser door and will hold 3 standard grill grates.
- The BBQ Slidin’ Shelf Kit w/ Drop In option for the Yoder YS640 includes the shelf, frame, spacers and an expanded metal drop in insert. There is 4“ of clearance between the top of the slide shelf and the bottom of the top shelf. Please watch our demo video and feel free to contact us with any questions.
- This folding top shelf measures approx. 28"x15 3/4", replaces the top shelf in the ys640/640s. Both shelves are available with expanded metal material or as 3/16" plasma cut mild steel. The 3/16" steel option retains heat differently so cook times may vary. The top shelf is designed to fold in the middle to allow easier access to the bottom shelf and possibly avoid having to remove and store the shelf.
These shelves are built to order.
Please note, as demonstrated in the video, the standard grill grates drop in going left-right vs front-back. This is by design to work without any cutting or modifications to the standard Yoder Grill Grates. When sliding the shelf is slid out always be cautious of grease dripping or collecting.
Disclaimer: Shelf should be washed with soap and water and properly burnt in and seasoned before use. Weight capacity of the sliding shelf is 60lbs and the foldable top shelf is 15lbs. Edges may be sharp and the shelf will be hot when in use so use caution. Height difference of the cooking surface of the sliding shelf is approximately 1 1/4”, so cook times may vary.

Solid product
This is a great addition to the Yoder 640s and adds convenience by giving a full pull out bottom shelf with an option for half or full shelf top. It has allowed me to not have to hassle with removing shelves based on the configuration I want. Highly recommend.

YS640 grate replacement
The folding top shelf is heavy duty and the sliding bottom give access to all you food. 2 of my top upgrades for the ys640

Best upgrade for the Yoder ever!
I initially hesitated on buying but boy am I glad I did. These are so well built, designed and thought out. I’m surprised Yoder hasn’t bought the whole company.
